Why Conscience Codex could potentially be the next blue chip NFT
In just under 5 months, BAYC has seemingly taken over the planet. With dogs, mutants, POAP’s, a Hundreds collab, virtual meetups in Decentraland & 10’s of millions of dollars in volume, its evident we’re witnessing the turning of a cultural page. A move toward Web3, with NFT’s at the forefront. Gutter Cats, Cool Cats, ArtBlocks, Crypto Punks, 888 & Pixel Vault are also carving out their corners of the Metaverse, & in just a matter of months, have set themselves leagues apart from every other project on the Ethereum Blockchain.
Conscience Codex, conceptualised by Australian artist Jacob Lee (Lowly Lyricist), is a project which very well may be sitting alongside them in a matter of months. How? Let’s talk about it.
Jacob Lee, creator of the Conscience Universe, has been a full time singer/songwriter since 2015. Amassing 180 million Spotify streams & 235 million YouTube views with nothing other than self-taught marketing strategies.
Amidst running his own record label, Philosophical Records, Jacob has toured his music all over Europe, the USA, UK & his home country, Australia. He’s trekked to Everest Base Camp, assisted orphanages in the slums of Nairobi Kenya, walked through the gas chambers of Auschwitz, & has been the sole Australian Ambassador for multiple Good Will expeditions in Europe.
Heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series by FromSoftware, Jacob has often contemplated developing his own virtual province. Adopting cryptocurrency in 2018, & entering the NFT sphere mid 2020, the technology is now available to do exactly that, resulting in the creation of the Conscience Codex of Lowly Lyricist, Conscience Cards, Empty Relics & Conscience DAO.
But what is the Conscience Codex?
In short — an archive. Forgotten documents from an earth which could no longer sustain the weight of humankind. An earth the afterlife now call the ‘Last Garden’. In the longterm, this universe will expand to become its own Metaverse, for now, it will live in the Sandbox. With two plots of land purchased in the first two weeks since launch (one near BAYC headquarters), the ‘Last Garden’ is on route to developing multiple estates within the next 6–12 months.
Why buy land though?
Many roadmaps announce they’re purchasing land, though rarely explain what they plan to do with it. The ‘Last Garden’ won’t only be a place to expand the Conscience Codex universe. It will double as a stage to showcase artistry & talent. A venue for upcoming artists, virtual festivals, as well as a gallery to share collections from the community wallet. This will enter development after complete sell out of the Conscience Cards collection.
Virtual land is a longterm play, what do supporters get right now?
The Conscience Codex team have stated that they’re striving to be the most utility driven project on the Ethereum Blockchain. A big call, though something that very well may come true after initiating the below. The four following points are taken from phase 1 of the Conscience Codex Roadmap.
- At 25%, 6 ETH will be loaded into the Conscience Codex wallet to support upcoming NFT artists.
- At 50%, $15,000 will be transferred to a mental health charity of the communities choice. (Deliberated in Discord).
- Random birthday NFT drops from affiliated & unaffiliated projects.
- A Gutter Cat Gang giveaway at 100% sell out of the Conscience Cards.
The Conscience Cards are also a mint pass?
Even in its infancy, the Conscience Codex universe may very well be the most aesthetically pleasing & intricate NFT out there right now. With 1,265 Conscience Cards under 12 designs, the team have made it clear they’d prefer to rely on utility, rather than aesthetics, to sell their vision. Living in a landscape packed with PFP projects which lack in function, the CC team are proving almost weekly, that they don’t intend on following in the same footsteps.
Universe Expansion
Just under 11 ETH ($37,000 USD) has been traded within the first fortnight, with 57 unique holders. All Ultra Rare cards were sold out within the first 15 minutes, & Extremely Rares are beginning to look scarce. Even so, the Conscience Cards, & surrounding universe, still remain inherently undiscovered. Upon sell out of the entire Conscience Card collection, holders who have the entire deck (ultras not included) will be eligible for a unique 1/1 airdrop. Those with ultras in their wallet will also receive the first Conscience Codex’ Decentraland wearable, only 15 will ever be generated.
